A new issue of the journal “Mineral Resources of Ukraine” has been published
The Ukrainian State Geological Research Institute (USGRI) conducts expert assessment of oil and gas prognostic resources (exploration results) as well as prospective and prognostic resources which are localized within the local facilities of the Western, Southern and Eastern oil and gas regions of Ukraine.
The comprehensive physicochemical studies of coal, wastes of coal enrichment, and coal-bearing rocks are successfully conducted in USGRI’s laboratories with the aim to determine coal’s tendency to spontaneous combustion.
The most expected e-auction for the last 10 years is coming soon! The electronic tender for obtaining a special permit for geological study including research development with the further extraction of gas, oil and condensate on Budyshchansko-Chutivska site will take place on August 31.
In order to fulfill Ukraine’s international obligations and transpose the EU Directives of EIA, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved the Law of Ukraine “On Environmental Impact Assessment” No. 2059-VIII (Law №2059) which became effective since May 23, 2017 and establishes the legal and organizational base for environmental impact assessment aimed to prevent environmental damage, environmental safety ensuring, environmental protection, rational use and recreation of natural resources in the decision-making process on economic activities that may have a significant impact on the environment, taking into account state, social and private interests.
At the present stage of geological knowledge development in Ukraine, a large number of subsurface use objects require geological and economic assessment or re-assessment to obtain accurate data on the market value of the deposit field, optimization of technical and economic indicators of production, prospects and economic efficiency of further object’s development or exploration, calculation or refining of the enterprise’s profitability.
Today, the Ukrainian State Geological Research Institute (USGRI) has a laboratory base aimed to a comprehensive study of reservoir rocks in order to determine the parameters required for objective accounting of total and extractive hydrocarbon reserves.
The scientific and technical exhibition of the USGRI is the leading exposition of the Ukraine’s geological exploration industry, which reflects the current state of its mineral resources. The exhibition begins its history on November 1, 1983, when a permanent exhibition “Scientific and Technological Progress in “Mingeo” Organizations” was opened in the premises of the former Ministry of Geology.
UKRSGRI compiled “Index of Normative Documents 2020” list of normative documents that are valid on 01.06.2020 and are used in the field of geological study, protection and use of subsoil. The Index contains the following regulations:
UkrSGRI provides information support services for oil and gas exploration in the Eastern region. Relevant maps provide high-quality modeling of the geological environment of the region, contribute to a better study of the geological structure and increase the reliability of oil and gas forecasting in different structural and facies areas, both within regional and local sites. The maps are made in digital format (ARCGIS).
